Are we really 21 days from 2008? This is nuts.
It hit me as I sat and labeled some 800 magnet calendars that I am sending out this week (thank God for Sunday Night Football--you can actually knock out about fifty in a quarter, once you get a rhythym going). You may already have one of these, especially if you live in north Palmetto Bay. Don't have one? Want one? Just let me know. Don't be shy if you want one for a friend or family member, I've got a bunch (maybe a hundred) left over.

I'm getting back into my writing now. I wrote a lot freelance stuff for years, and right now I may have a column in the Sun Post in the works. I've been talking to the editor there and sending some sample writing, so we'll see how they like the idea. Writing has always been a nice outlet for me. I've been able to express myself pretty well that way since I was a kid.

Business wise things have picked up this past week. I guess some people see it as their last buying/selling window of the year.

I was supposed to have a closing today, but it looks like we are now going to be made to wait until just before the end of the year. Everything is clear to close except the lien search, and the City of Miami Beach has told the title company it will take them another three weeks to get it done. There are just some bureacratic hurdles you can't overcome, when an entity like a municipality that has no stake in the transaction at all just decides to be obstinate, or is that way by policy. In the mean time, the sellers are waiting for their money, the buyer is waiting for his property, and the realtor is waiting for his commission.

Tomorrow is our office holiday luncheon. I'm looking forward to that. There is usually a very nice spread at a nice restaurant, and the company picks up the tab--not bad!
