Ramesh Nyberg's Real Estate Blog

SLAM!

That is the sound of the door closing at the beginning of the school year! It's nothing to worry about--this is what happens to real estate activity when summer ends and parents are busy with adjusting to new schedules, buying school supplies, meeting teachers, setting up PTAs, etc.
It will come back, and if all indications come true, it could be a pretty strong comeback. A lot will depend on interest rates, of course. Lower mortgage interest rates and a new tax reform in January could supercharge the market and hopefully we could start seeing all this inventory get gobbled up.

Football season has arrived too--and my guess is that at open houses on Sundays we'll see a lot fewer husbands in tow :)
